A Month of Music, Meals and Sunshine at Somerforde

July has flown by in a whirl of fun, laughter, music and wonderful company. Looking back at everything our residents have been up to, it is hard to know where to start. So grab a cuppa and let us walk you through some of the highlights.

A Sunday Roast to Remember

Our trip out to Toby Carvery was a proper treat. Residents tucked into hearty roast dinners, saved just enough room for pudding (of course), and spent the afternoon chatting away over their plates. There is something special about sharing a meal out together, and this outing had it all: good food, good company, and plenty of stories swapped across the table.

Match Day at Somerforde

Football fever came home to Somerforde this month. Residents gathered round to watch the match with a proper spread laid on, sandwiches, nibbles, and a few sweet treats to keep everyone going. The cheering, the friendly banter, and the collective groans at the near misses made for a brilliant atmosphere. Whether you were a lifelong fan or just there for the buffet, everyone got stuck in.

Visitors, Music and a Bit of a Workout

We had a lovely run of visiting entertainers and activities keeping things lively:

The harpist filled the lounge with beautiful, calming music that had everyone stopping to listen. The animal man came by with a whole menagerie in tow, giving residents the chance to meet, stroke, and even hold a few furry and feathered friends. Our exercise class had everyone working hard (and having a good giggle at the same time), and one of our favourite singers popped in to perform a set of familiar songs that had toes tapping and voices joining in.

Soaking Up the Sunshine

And of course, we could not let the good weather go to waste. Residents made the most of the sunny days, spending time out in the garden, catching up with friends, and simply enjoying the warmth on their faces. Sometimes the simplest moments are the best ones.
