At Somerforde, we believe that staying connected to the seasons and special traditions is vital for a sense of belonging and joy. Our February Activities Plan is designed to keep our residents engaged, social, and surrounded by a warm, family atmosphere.
A Month Full of Heart
February is naturally centered around Valentine’s Day, but we take it a step further by celebrating the love and friendships within our home all month long:
Valentine’s Festivities: From making paper chains and cards to baking Valentine’s cookies and a special "Valentine’s Brunch" for everyone, we ensure the romantic spirit is felt by all.
Entertainment & Performance: We are thrilled to welcome back favorites like Luc the Harpist, Jerry the Singer, and Phil the Singer, bringing live music directly to our lounge.
Cultural Celebrations: We’re celebrating Chinese New Year by making traditional lanterns and fortune cookies expanding our horizons and enjoying new flavors together.
Play & Interaction: Whether it’s a high-energy game of "Whack-a-Mole," a Nintendo Switch Monopoly tournament, or our own "Britain's Got Talent" showcase, there is always an opportunity for laughter and friendly competition.
Meaningful Connections
Beyond the group fun, we prioritize quiet, meaningful moments. Activities like "Letters to a Loved One" and our "Memory Tray Game" help residents maintain cognitive health while staying connected to their personal histories and the people they care about most.
